Today's Highlights:
You'd think by now that everyone using older
versions of Outlook would have noticed the
Microsoft-supplied holidays are no longer
appearing on their calendars. They ended in 2006
and Microsoft released an updated HOL file for
2007 - 20012 holidays, However, based on the
number of queries I get, there are a lot of
users who aren't aware of the update for missing
holidays.
If you've just discovered you don't have the
public holidays for 2009, you can download the
update from Microsoft (links below). This update
contains the updated HOL file for Outlook 2003.
You'll need to reinstall the holidays from
Tools, options, Calendar options, Holidays. Tell
Outlook yes, you want to install them again.
Outlook 2007 includes holidays for 2007 - 2012
but if you are using a mailbox or PST created
with an older version of Outlook, you'll need to
install the holidays to get the updated list.
If you need the updated HOL file for earlier
versions of Outlook or have problems installing
the update for Outlook 2003, see :

Appointment times randomly move by 2 - 8 minutes
We're seeing complaints about Outlook adding
(or subtracting) 2 - 8 minutes to new
appointments. For example, if an appointment is
created for 10:00 to 11:00 AM, it's changed to
10:02 to 11:02 AM. Users may also receive an
error message that the message is not recurring
and they need to close all open items.
This is not a bug in Outlook, its caused by the
anti-spam module from CA Security Suite 2008.
Disabling or uninstalling the anti-spam module
will fix it.
Fix: PDA Sync & Missing Appointments
If you sync with a handheld device and some
appointments don’t show in the month view but
are visible in table views like By Category, a
fix is available. Your Exchange admin will need
to install it.
